Robbery detectives are investigating an armed robbery of a Rainier Valley business that occurred last night just before 9:00 pm.
Just before 9:00 pm, the employee of the Balageru International Mart was in the back of the store getting ready to close for the night when she heard someone enter the store. She went up front to see what they needed. She saw two men, wearing gloves and masks, and one was armed with a handgun. The armed suspect demanded money. The employee gave the suspects an undisclosed amount of cash. Both suspects then fled the store in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured, and was able to call 911. A number of patrol officers, as well as K-9, responded to the scene, but unfortunately the suspects were not located. The only other description provided was that both suspects were wearing dark clothing.
