Officers working an emphasis patrol on Aurora Avenue North last night arrested a convicted felon carrying a loaded gun, cash and drugs.
Last night, just after 10:30 pm, officers contacted the man inside the 7-11 store in the 7300 Block of Aurora Avenue North. While officers were talking to the man, they noticed what appeared to be an outline of a gun in his waistband. Officers immediately grabbed the man’s arms and recovered a large, loaded revolver—which fires .410 shotgun shells—hidden under his shirt.
Because the man is a convicted felon, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm, and officers arrested him for gun possession. Officers also ran a check on the gun, which turned out to be stolen, and found the suspect was also carrying close to $5000 in cash.
Officers filed for a warrant and searched the man’s vehicle, where they located methamphetamine, ecstasy, unidentified pills, and drug paraphernalia.
The 36-year-old suspect was booked into the King County Jail for unlawful gun possession, possession of a stolen firearm, and felony drug possession.
