Man outmaneuvers would be robber

Would be robber arrested. The victim is a driver for a roadside service company. Last night just shortly after 8:00 p.m., he was sitting inside his pickup truck in a lot at Virginia St & Boren Avwhen an unknown man walked up to his truck, opened the driver’s door and placed his hand over the victim’s mouth.

The suspect then began hitting the victim in the arm while telling him to get out of the truck and leave his keys. The victim was finally able to get his mouth free enough to tell the victim to move out of the way so he can get out of the truck. When the suspect moved out of the way the victim closed the door and locked it.

The suspect then began pounding on the driver’s door window. The victim drove off but positioned himself in such a way so that he could keep the suspect under observation. The suspect began going from car to car checking them out. The suspect left the area on foot.

The victim called 911 while monitoring the suspect. Patrol units quickly responded and found the suspect in another lot a few blocks away. The man was arrested without incident. He was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery 2nd.
