Armed Robbery and Sexual Assault in South Seattle

A man attempting to sell a Kindle was robbed and sexually assaulted at his residence in South Seattle this afternoon.  On April 7th at approximately 12:05 p.m. officers responded to the 2000 block of 32nd Avenue South for the report of an armed robbery.  Preliminary investigation indicates that the 27-year-old male victim and adult male suspect met this morning on a social network site.  The victim gave the suspect his address as he was going to sell him a Kindle.  The suspect came to the victim’s house.  Once inside, the suspect pretended to show interest in the Kindle and then suddenly pulled out a small handgun.  The suspect threatened the victim and directed him to the bedroom where he proceeded to sexually assault him.

After the sexual assault the suspect went into the bathroom during which time the victim locked himself in the bedroom.  The victim was able to climb out a bedroom window and seek assistance from a neighbor.  Prior to leaving the victim’s house the suspect took the Kindle, an iPhone and iPad.  The suspect, a male in his 20’s, remains at large.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.

Robbery and CSI detectives responded to process the scene and investigate further.

This remains an active and on-going investigation.
