A man was arrested for harassing a group of Arab-Americans at the Seattle Center. Today, just shortly after 7:00 p.m., an extended group of Arab-American family and friends were in the area of the International Fountain on the Seattle Center grounds.
The suspect, a white male began harassing the group by asking the women how many husbands they had and similar demeaning questions. The males in the group tried to intervene and asked the suspect to leave the group alone. The suspect then took an aggressive fighting stance and told the males in the group that he was going to obtain a gun and shoot them all.
Members of the targeted group called 9-1-1 and requested police assistance. Multiple units arrived within minutes of the initial broadcast. Officers located the suspect just off the Center grounds and arrested him without incident. The 52-year-old man was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Malicious Harassment.
