Officers continue their search for a suspect that remains at large after a shooting in North Seattle this evening.
At approximately 10:59 p.m. officers responded to a shooting in the 14300 block of Aurora Avenue North. Preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting took place in the parking lot behind the Hertz car rental building. The suspect shot the victim at least once in the chest before fleeing the scene on a bicycle. Further investigation revealed that the suspect and victim are known to each other. The events leading up to the shooting are unknown at this time and remain under active investigation.
The victim, a male believed to be in his 30’s, was transported to Harborview Medical Center by fire department medics for treatment of his life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, who remains at large, is described as a black male in his late 30’s with a thin build. He was last scene wearing blue jeans and riding a bicycle southbound on Aurora Avenue from the scene.
Homicide/Assault detectives responded to the scene and continue to actively investigate.
