Officers arrested two men for brutally beating a man downtown last night.
On May 17th at approximately 9:50 p.m. officers responded to 911 calls of an assault in the 100 block of Pike Street. Officers arrived within two minutes of the original 911 call and secured the scene. The suspects had fled the area prior to the arrival of the officers.

It is unknown at this time what, if anything, precipitated the attack.
Fire department medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Approximately 25 minutes after the initial 911 call officers located the two primary suspects at 3rd Avenue and Pine Street and detained them. They were transported to the West Precinct where further investigation identified them as the primary suspects.
Suspect #1, a 19-year-old male, and suspect #2, a 20-year-old male, were both booked into the King County Jail for Felony Assault.
