Officers contacted a man under the influence with knife wounds downtown but were unable to determine what exactly led up to his injuries.
Tonight at approximately 7:54 p.m. officers responded to 6th Avenue and Olive Way for the report of a man who had been cut and was bleeding. Responding officers located the subject, a male in his early 30’s, at 7th Avenue and Olive Way.
Further investigation determined the subject had been in some type of physical altercation and was cut on his hand and also had a puncture wound in his chest. The subject appeared to be under the influence of an unknown drug and was totally uncooperative. Officers were therefore unable to determine what events led up to the subject being injured. No suspects were alleged or identified nor did anyone come forward while officers conducted their on-scene investigation.
Officers called fire department medics to the scene to evaluate and treat the subject. Medics subsequently transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
