Disturbance between occupants of two vehicles resulted in shots being fired

A shooting call last night lead to a large police response. at On 5/25/2013, just shortly after midnight, officers responded to a call of a shooting at the McDonald’s, at 5th and Broad.

The events that preceded the shooting are still under investigation, but what we know at this point is that the occupants of two vehicles became involved in some type of altercation, which resulted in shots being fired.

One of the vehicles, a large SUV was backed into a spot in the parking lot, when the other vehicle, a silver Chevy sedan pulled up and stopped in front of the SUV.  At least one person exited the SUV and got into the silver car.  Just as the silver car pulled away, the SUV appeared to intentionally ram the vehicle, pushing it onto the walkway outside the restaurant.

The SUV then continued around the corner.  As the sedan started to pull away, the SUV came back around the corner and appeared headed directly at it.  The sedan swerved, but the SUV , rammed it again.  The SUV then drove past the sedan, and as the occupants of the sedan exited the vehicle, the SUV began backing up, in an apparent effort to run them over.  At that point, one of the occupants of the sedan began firing at the SUV.

The SUV and the sedan went around the corner of the restaurant, and more shots were fired.  The SUV then pulled back around and exited the parking lot S/B on 5th Ave.

During the initial investigation, officers saw a silver colored pistol in the the sedan.  There were also several shell cases located in the parking lot.

Other officers later located the alleged shooter and the gun several blocks away.  Officers also located other ocupants of the sedan.

Later, the driver of the SUV called 911 from West Seattle to report that they had been robbed and shot at.

The only reported injury was to a female passenger in the sedan who was transported via AMR to Harborview with non-life threatening injuries she sustained when the SUV rammed the sedan.

Several people were taken into custody. At this time their dispositions are unknown. Gang Unit Detectives responded to the scene and assisted with the investigation.  At the time of this report, they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
