Police Investigating Report of Bathroom Molestation at Seward Park

Sexual assault detectives are investigating a report of attempted molestation in the bathroom of a South Seattle park.

Around 1:45 pm on July 9th, a group of boys—all between 8 and 13 years old—were changing clothes in the bathroom near the beach area of Seward Park when a man approached the boys made lewd comments to them, tried to take off one child’s pants, and touched another child.

The suspect—described as an Asian male in his late 40s, 5’11, 200 pounds, wearing gray shorts and red sneakers—then left the bathroom and climbed into a green Toyota Corolla with another Asian male, who appeared to be in his 90s, and drove away.

Following the incident, officers went to a home in South Seattle looking for the suspect, but learned he no longer lives at that address.

The victims in this incident did the right thing by immediately reporting the man to lifeguards and adults in the park, who called police and provided officers with some very useful information about the suspect.

Detectives are now investigating the case. If you have any information about the suspect or this incident, please call 911.
