Bicyclist taken to HMC with life threatening injuries. On July 25, just shortly after 4:00 p.m., a cyclist was north on Dexter Av N approaching Harrison St. At the same time, a silver Subaru Forrester was travelling south on Dexter Av N approaching Harrison St.
The vehicle initiated a left eastbound turn in front of the cyclist; this caused the cyclist to hit the front passenger door and be ejected from the bicycle.
Seattle Fire Dept responded and treated theĀ 34 year-old male cyclist; he was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Medics with what were believed to be life threatening injuries.
As is routine, a DRE unit responded and evaluated theĀ 67- year- old female driver (lone occupant) of the vehicle; no signs of impairment were detected.
The investigation continues.
