Man Arrested After Stealing Truck, Ramming Witness and Patrol Car

Seattle police arrested a suspected car thief after he rammed a witness and a patrol car in West Seattle Tuesday morning.

At about 10:20 AM, a witness called 911 and said they were following a man driving stolen a grey pickup truck, filled with landscaping equipment.

The man driving the stolen pickup then rammed the 911 caller near 53rd Ave SW and SW Admiral and drove off.

An officer responding to the incident spotted the suspect near California Ave SW and SW Morgan Street, where the suspect reversed into the officer’s patrol car, smashing the front end and disabling the vehicle. The officer was not seriously hurt.

The suspect took off again and later bailed out of the truck, but was arrested by officers after they found the man hiding under the deck of a home near 40th Ave SW and SW Holly Street.
