Man Shot In the Leg In Central District Robbery

One man was shot in the leg during an apparent robbery in the Central District early this morning.

Around 12:30 AM, two brothers left a gas station at 23rd Ave and Cherry Street and were walking home when a group of three men approached them near 23rd and James Street.

There, the three suspects, who were wearing bandannas over their faces, grabbed the victims and began patting them down.

When one of the victims pulled out a knife, one of the suspects drew a handgun and shot the man in his leg.

The suspects—described as black males in their late teens to early 20s, all between 5’6 and 5’9, wearing dark hoodies and jeans—then fled. The victims returned to the gas station and called police.

Medics transported the wounded victim to Harborview with non-life-threatening injuries.

Patrol officers and K9 searched the neighborhood for the suspects, but weren’t able to find them.
