A 25-year-old woman is now in custody following a domestic violence dispute yesterday morning that resulted in her breaking into a house, assaulting the victim, and causing extensive property damage.
At about 8:30 yesterday morning, officers responded to a 911 call in the 3700 Block of South Oregon Street. The call indicated that the female suspect showed up to the house of her ex girlfriend and forced her way inside the house. Once inside, the suspect assaulted and restrained the victim and prevented her from leaving. The victim was eventually able to escape from the house and ran to a neighbor’s. The suspect had barricaded herself inside the house. Patrol officers, SWAT and negoitators arrived on the scene and began to talk with the suspect. After two hours of negotiating, the suspect finally gave up and was arrested without incident. Officers then cleared the house and saw that there was extensive damage inside. The suspect also attempted to start a fire inside the house.
The suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for burglary, property damage, unlawful imprisonment and an outstanding Department of Corrections warrant.
