A 37-year-old man is in the hospital following a confrontation with two unknown suspects early this morning at 1st Avenue South and South Jackson Street.
Just after 1:30 am, West Precinct officers, along with Seattle Fire, responded to a report of a fight and a man down at that location. Officers arrived and found the victim on the ground, unconscious and bleeding from the head. Seattle Fire medics stablized the victim and transported him to Harborview Medical Center. After the victim was transported, officers determine the sequence of events that led up to the assault.
The victim had walked from a bar with his wife and a friend to the intersection of 1st and Jackson where two unknown suspects were arguing with one another. Officers were told the victim said something to the men, who then turned on him. According to witnesses, the suspects punched the victim in the head mulitple times, knocking him to the ground. The two suspects then proceeded to kick him in the head while he was on the ground. The two suspects, described as black males in their 20’s to early 30’s, then fled the scene in a black 4-door sedan. There is no further description of the suspects or the make/model of the car.
Officers searched the area but did not find the suspects. Detectives will be handling the follow up investigation. Anyone with information on this assault is asked to contact Seattle Police.
