Hit and Run to Pedestrian on Rainier Avenue South

Update: This collision occurred in front of the Barton Place Apartments.  If you witnessed or believe you have any information concerning this collision, please contact the Seattle Police Department’s Traffic Collision Investigation Squad/Detectives Scott Schmidt at (206) 684-8935.

Detectives are investigating a suspected hit and run to a pedestrian that occurred last night in the 9200 Block of Rainier Avenue South.

At about 10:40 pm, police responded to a report of a person struck by a vehicle at that location.  One person stated that the suspect vehicle struck the pedestrian and fled the collision scene without rendering first aid or providing any information.  Another caller described the vehicle as gray, but there was no further description of the car or suspect(s).

When officers arrived on scene, the Seattle Fire Department was treating the 40-year-old male victim and preparing to transport him to Harborview Medical Center with serious, possibly life-threatening injuries.  Officers called for Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) detectives to respond to the scene.

TCIS detectives arrived and processed the scene.  Officers could not find any actual witnesses to the collision, and the information received at the scene is very limited.  Anyone with information on this hit and run collision is asked to contact Seattle Police.  This remains an active investigation.
