Seattle police have arrested one suspect in the beating death of Alvaro Ruiz, whose body was found under a blanket near 4th Avenue South and Edgar Martinez Drive S. on September 28th.
After identifying Ruiz and learning he was homeless, detectives began visiting shelters and day labor sites for leads in the case. Police learned Ruiz had been in a dispute with two other men about a month before he was murdered.
Detectives were able to identify one of the men and notified officers to keep watch for him. Officers found and arrested that suspect Saturday evening at Rainier and S. Bayview St.
Police booked the man into the King County Jail for homicide and have forwarded the case to prosecutors.
Detectives also have information about the second suspect in the case and are currently searching for him.
