Seattle Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred last night at the Plaid Pantry store at NE 50th and Roosevelt Way NE. The suspect was armed with a large butcher knife.
At 10:00 pm last night, North Precinct officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the store. According to witnesses, the suspect entered the store, approached the clerk, and displayed the large knife. He demanded the money from the cash register. After taking money from the till, the suspect then fled the store on foot. There were no injuries.
Officers set up containment, called in a K-9 team, and were assisted by the King County Sheriff’s Guardian One helicopter. Despite all the resources, the suspect was not located. The suspect was described as a white male, 5′-10″ tall, approximately 200 pounds. He was wearing a black and grey hooded sweatshirt and wearing a white mask. Robbery detectives will handle the follow up investigation.
