Two men were arrested early this morning following a burglary to a Mexican restaurant in the 1800 Block of Eastlake Avenue East.
At about 12:35 this morning, West Precinct officers responded to a burglary alarm at the restaurant. The restaurant has been burglarized several times in the past week, each time the suspect(s) entered the building through a broken window and stole alcohol. No suspects were located each time police responded. However, this morning, the alarm company reported hearing suspect voices inside the restaurant. Officers responded and set up containment around the building. A K9 team also responded. A broken window was found at the restaurant.
The dog and handler entered the building along with other officers. A suspect was located inside and arrested without incident. Officers searched the building for additional suspects but no one else was located. An employee responded to secure the building.
At about 2:45 this morning, the alarm company reported another burglary alarm at the restaurant and reported hearing another voice from inside. Officers returned to the scene, set up containment and waited for K9. A second suspect was located hidden deep within a crawl space and was attempting to leave when he tripped the alarm. That suspect was also arrested. Both suspects, ages 29 and 35, were booked into the King County Jail for burglary.
