An alert citizen helped officers apprehend a bank robber today in the International District.
At approximately 2:33 p.m. officers responded to the report of a bank robbery in the 600 block of 5th Avenue South. Preliminary investigation indicates that a witness called 911 after observing the adult male suspect robbing a Wells Fargo bank. The witness followed the suspect on foot through the International District and pointed out the suspect to the first officers arriving on scene. The suspect, a man in his 50’s, was taken into custody without further incident.
The suspect was subsequently booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
