A man and a woman were arrested last night in connection with a robbery that took place in Pioneer Square earlier this month.
On January 16th, the victim was beaten and stabbed in the back and robbed while in the 100 Block of Occidental Avenue South. The victim told officers that the male suspect displayed a handgun in his waistband during the incident, and that a female accomplice was also involved. The suspects fled before police arrived and the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of his stab wound.
Robbery detectives began investigating and identified the two suspects involved. A bulletin with the suspect information was distributed to officers. Last night, just before 9:00 pm, two West Precinct officers located both suspects, the man and woman, at 1st and Pike. They were arrested and transported to the Robbery Unit office. During a search of the suspects, a knife, similar to the one used on the 16th, was recovered as well as a magazine to a BB gun. Detectives interviewed the suspects. After the interview, both the man, age 39 and the woman, 44, were booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery. Robbery detectives will continue to follow up on this investigation.
