Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) called out to vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. On February 11, 2014 at approximately 7:30 p.m., a burgundy Nissan Pathfinder was travelling south on Dexter Av approaching Denny Wy. At the same time, a pedestrian was in or near the east crosswalk, crossing Denny Wy on Dexter. The Nissan executed a left, eastbound turn and struck the pedestrian, causing her to be thrown to the pavement.
Seattle Fire Dept responded and treated the 26-year-old female pedestrian; she was transported to Harborview Medical Center via Medics with a potentially life threatening head injury.
As is routine, a Drug Recognition Expert unit responded and evaluated the 51- year-old male driver of the Nissan; no signs of impairment were detected.
TCI responded and processed the scene.
The investigation continues.
