Burglary at University District Sorority House

A male suspect remains at large after he was discovered inside a sorority house during an early morning burglary.

At approximately 3:51 a.m. officers responded to the 4500 block of 22nd Avenue NE for the report of a burglary. Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect cut a screen on a second floor window to make entry. Some of the women who reside at the house came home and found the suspect in one of the rooms. Upon discovery the suspect fled down a back hallway and back stairs. The women ran to the kitchen and called 911.

Responding officers arrived in under two minutes and found a back door to the house open and the suspect at large.

Officers conducted an area search for the suspect with the assistance of a canine unit however, the suspect remains at large.

Nobody was injured during the incident, which remains an active and on-going investigation.
