A 33-year old man is in custody facing robbery charges after he was arrested yesterday afternoon a block away from the bank he had just robbed.
At about 1:30 pm yesterday afternoon, the suspect entered the Wells Fargo bank in the 900 Block of 3rd Avenue and displayed a note to the tellers, demanding money. After receiving money from the teller, the suspect left the bank on foot. There were no injuries. Officers quickly responded and located the suspect one block away. The suspect was positively identified by witnesses, and he was taken into custody. Money from the robbery was recovered from the suspect. The suspect was interviewed by Robbery Unit detectives and the FBI and was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
