Last night, at around 11:00 pm, North Precinct officers responded to the University of Washington Medical Center to interview a victim of an attempted robbery. The victim told officers that a man he knows confronted him in an alley in the 4300 Block of University Way NE and demanded that he “empty his pockets.” When the victim refused, the suspect produced a pair of handcuffs which he held like brass knuckles, and began assaulting the victim. The victim eventually made it to the hospital where 911 was called as he was getting treated for the lacerations to his face.
Officers were familiar with the suspect and went back to the area where the robbery and assault occurred. They located the suspect and took him into custody for the robbery and an outstanding Department of Corrections warrant. He was later booked into the King County Jail.
