A 31-year-old man was stabbed at an Aurora motel Tuesday night after a love triangle took a violent turn.
Just before 9 pm, a motorist called 911 after spotting a man bleeding on the street in the 8200 block of Aurora Ave N. Officers arrived, along with the Seattle Fire Department, and began treating the man for his injuries.
At the scene, the 31-year-old victim and his girlfriend both told officers the stabbing was the result of a lovetriangle gone wrong, and that the suspect was a man who was also romantically involved with the victim’s girlfriend.
The pair told police that earlier that evening, the suspect was visiting the woman at her motel room when he received a call from her boyfriend, the victim of the stabbing.
The victim and the suspect argued over the woman, and agreed to fight. The victim boarded a bus and headed to the motel, where he confronted the suspect outside the woman’s motel room.
The confrontation escalated, and the suspect stabbed the victim once in the shoulder before fleeing the motel.
Medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers and a K9 team searched for the suspect but weren’t able to find him. Police have identified the man and are now working to find and arrest him
