A 26-year-old man was killed and another man was injured in a shooting shortly before midnight on Sunday.
The shooting happened after an argument outside Club Volume on S. Washington St. The victims drove away and were followed. In the 400 block of S. Jackson St., near King Street Station, a car pulled alongside the victims’ vehicle and an occupant opened fire hitting the two men sitting in front.
Moments later a call came into 9-1-1 reporting two people shot. Upon arrival, officers did not locate any victims or suspects.
The driver, who was injured, drove the car several blocks away from the scene of the shooting to the 5900 block of 1st Ave S. Someone called 911 to report their location. The driver, 22, was taken to Haborview Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The front seat passenger was dead when officers arrived. Two other passengers in rear seat of the car were not injured.
Homicide and CSI detectives canvassed three scenes and processed them for evidence. No suspect information is available at this time. This is an active investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Violent Crime Tip line at 206-233-5000. Anonymous tips are welcome.
