Police are investigating after a 39-year-old man was slashed during a robbery in Lake City Way early Sunday morning.
The victim was smoking outside his apartment building in the 14000 block of Lake City Way at 2:30 a.m. when a man approached him and asked for a cigarette. When the victim pulled out his cigarettes to give one away, the stranger demanded his wallet as well.
When the victim told the suspect that he didn’t have his wallet with him, the suspect got closer to the victim and grabbed for the victim’s watch.
The suspect struggled with the victim, wrestled away his watch, and then fled.
After the fight, the victim noticed a large gash on his arm and immediately went inside his apartment and called 911.
The Seattle Fire Department responded and treated a two-inch gash on the victim’s arm before transporting him to Harborview Medical Center.
Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect, who the victim described as a 6’3 foot Asian or Hispanic man wearing a black baseball cap and grey hooded sweatshirt.
If you have any information about this case please call 911 and ask to speak to an officer.
