Police Arrest Three After Armed Car-Jacking

Officers located and arrested three juvenile suspects in the Central District just hours after they stole a car at gunpoint.

On Tuesday, just before 11 PM, three juvenile suspects approached a man parking his car in the Roosevelt neighborhood. One of the juvenile suspects pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his car keys and cellphone. The suspect’s stole these items and made their getaway in the victim’s car, but not for long.

This morning at about 1:30 AM two ACT (Anti-Crime Team) officers recognized the stolen car near 23 Ave and E Fir St.

The suspects attempted to flee but crashed at 31 Avenue S and S Judkins Street. Officers arrested one of the suspects, but two of them managed to run away. Once again, not for long.

Officers flooded the area and called for a K9 officer. After a brief search, officers found the two remaining suspects and arrested them.

Officers checked the victim’s car and could see a handgun on the center console. They impounded the car for evidentiary processing.

Robbery detectives interviewed the three juvenile suspects, ages 13, 14 and 15, and then booked them into King County Youth Service Center for Investigation of Robbery.
