Seattle police arrested a man Sunday for hitting another man with a baseball bat and making derogatory remarks about his sexual orientation.
The incident happened about 11 p.m. on Sunday when two men were walking toward their car on East Pine Street holding hands. When they walked passed a parked car, the occupants heckled them. Two of men got out of the car and began following the victims.
One of the victims grabbed a baseball bat from their own vehicle to defend themselves but one of the suspects grabbed the bat and struck him. The victim was not seriously injured in the attack. The attackers fled in a car but officers located the vehicle, near 9th Avenue and East Alder Street, and arrested one of the men inside who was identified by the victims. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of malicious harassment.
