Officers Arrest Felon, Seize Rifle, Pistol From Tent Near Beacon Hill

Seattle police and Department of Corrections (DOC) officers on Thursday seized a rifle and a pistol from a wanted felon after finding him in a tent in the woods near Beacon Hill.

Seattle police and Department of Corrections (DOC) officers on Thursday seized a rifle and a pistol from a wanted felon after finding him in a tent in the woods near Beacon Hill.

Officers found the man while searching an encampment near Interstate 5 and Dearborn Street. The 25-year-old man was wanted on DOC felony warrant and two theft and two misdemeanor warrants.

DOC officers searched the man’s tent and found a scoped rifle a semi-automatic handgun, and a recently-used meth pipe. As a convicted felon under the supervision of the DOC, the man is not legally able to possesses firearms or use drugs.

Police booked the suspect into King County Jail on multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm.
