Officers nab two would-be robbers after a botched robbery attempt in the Sand Point neighborhood Saturday night.
Police were called to the 5400 block of Sand Point Way Northeast just before 10 PM for a robbery at gunpoint. Officers flooded the area and began searching for the two suspects.
The 43-year-old victim was waiting at a bus stop having just gotten off work when two young men approached and asked for a cigarette. One of the two robbers pulled out a gun, pointed at the victim, and demanded his money.
Having none of it, the victim grabbed the gun and eventually wrestled it away from the formerly armed robber. After the disarming, both robbers ran off.
Police resources, including emphasis patrols, patrol officers and an off-duty sergeant poured into the area and located the bad luck robbers.
Officers later booked the 17 and 19-year-old robbers in to the King County Youth Service Center and King County Jail respectively on investigation of robbery.
The investigating officers recovered a loaded and very real looking pellet gun from the scene.
