Man Arrested for Stealing Computer from Haller Lake Store

Police arrested a 33-year-man Tuesday for stealing a new desktop computer from a store in the Haller Lake area.

The suspect walked into the store, located in the 13000 block of Aurora Avenue North, shortly before 3:30 PM on Monday. He grabbed a new desktop computer and left without paying. A store employee confronted the thief outside the store. The suspect put the computer into a waiting Nissan Altima, briefly wrestled with and punched the worker, then drove away.

Police tracked down the thief’s car at a nearby motel the following day, based on a description from the store employee. Officers arrested the suspect when he returned to the vehicle. He was booked into King County Jail on theft, assault and property damage charges, as well as two outstanding warrants.
