Officers responded to a robbery Friday evening in the Rainier Beach neighborhood which sent one woman to the hospital.
The victims, as husband and wife, had just closed their business in the 9200 block of Rainier Ave South around 7:30 P.M. As the woman was climbing into the passenger seat of her car a man approached the car and attacked.
The suspect opened the car door, grabbed the woman’s purse and began punching her repeatedly in the face. The suspect then ran from the scene with the purse in hand.
Medics responded to treat the woman for her injuries before she was taken to the hospital for further care.
Officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him. The suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s – 30’s, 5’5″ – 5’8″ in height and slim, last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and black baseball hat.
