King County Sheriff’s Guardian One Helicopter Helps SPD Catch Auto Thief

The King County Sheriff’s Guardian One helicopter helped Seattle police track a stolen vehicle and arrest the driver Tuesday evening.

Major Crimes Task Force detectives were looking for a man driving a stolen car in Northgate neighborhood. The detectives were hoping to follow and arrest the driver who was thought to also be involved in other crimes in the area.

The King County Sheriff’s Air Support unit stepped in to lend a helping hand.

Guardian One tracked the suspect on his circuitous route through Seattle and directed officers in to make the arrest when the suspect stopped at a fast food restaurant.

Detectives are interviewing the suspect now and will book him into King County Jail on investigation of auto theft.

The suspect may face additional charges as the investigation continues.
