Armed Robbers Caught After Crashing Getaway Car In North Seattle

Two suspected robbers are in custody after they pulled a gun on a man on Aurora Avenue Friday afternoon, stole his iPad, and then crashed their getaway car while fleeing from police.

The victim flagged down officers just before 3:30 PM near N. 85th Street and Aurora Avenue N. and said several men had pulled up in a white Acura, brandished a gun, and fled after taking his iPad.

Officers spotted the suspects’ Acura and attempted to pull them over, but the suspects fled. However, police caught up to the suspects a few minutes later when they crashed their Acura into several unoccupied parked cars at N. 103rd Street and Densmore Avenue N, just around the corner from SPD’s North Precinct.

Police arrested the two suspects at the scene and are investigating whether any other suspects may have fled following the crash.

Robbery detectives are handling the investigation.
