Woman Arrested after Belltown Shooting

Officers arrested a woman after a drive-by shooting in Belltown early Saturday morning.

Officers were out amongst the late night crowds in Belltown when they heard shots near 1st Ave. and Blanchard St.  A woman immediately called 911 to report a bullet had passed through her apartment window.  Other people reported seeing a white Camaro quickly leaving the area.

Officers began searching the area and saw the Camaro exiting I-5 at Dearborn St. Officers caught up to the car which crashed in the 900 block of Dearborn St. The driver fled the scene leaving two passengers behind.

After connecting evidence located at both scenes, officers arrested the 20-year-old female passenger for the drive-by-shooting. Officers interviewed and released the 22-year-old male in the back of the car.

Officers searched the original shooting scene and found a trail of blood, but have not located a victim yet. Officers recovered a 9mm  handgun from the crash scene and placed it into evidence.
