Captain Pierre Davis was out patrolling the East Precinct Tuesday when he heard dispatchers announce that a man had just robbed a cafe at 24th and E. Union.
A cafe employee called 911 at 2:30 PM and reported the suspect—a man in his 30’s, about 5’11, wearing a blue puffy jacket and jeans—had walked up to the counter, said he had a gun, and fled after demanding cash.
Captain Davis just so happened to be driving down 23rd and E. Union, one block from the scene of the robbery, when he looked over and saw the same man—30’s, about 5’11, wearing a blue puffy jacket and jeans—walking by.
Captain Davis stopped and detained the 41-year-old man, who will be booked into the King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
