Officers arrested a man in North Beacon Hill Saturday night after they stumbled upon his secret compartment containing a large amount of drugs.
Officers were on patrol in the 2900 block of Rainier Ave. South when they saw a man slumped over the steering wheel of his car just after 10 PM. The officers discovered the driver had a warrant from an earlier hit-and-run. They woke the sleeping suspect and placed him under arrest and began to search his pockets. Officers felt a can in the lining of his jacket. They removed the can and uncovered a secret compartment containing 63 grams of crack cocaine, 25 grams of crystal meth, $2500 cash and a small amount of heroin.
Officers booked the man into King County Jail and have impounded his car while they wait for a search warrant to check the interior of the vehicle.
