A jewelry thief injured and robbed a 74-year-old woman in the Seward Park neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
The woman was walking in the 5900 block of S. Juneau St. at 4:15 PM when a black male in his 20’s approached from behind and knocked the woman to the ground breaking her leg and possibly her hip. The suspect ripped a necklace off the woman while she lie on the ground. The suspect then ran northbound on Juneau Terrace St.
Seattle Fire Department medics responded to the scene and transported the woman to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Officers conducted an extensive area check, but were unable to locate the suspect. Officers are asking anyone with information about this case to call 911.
