(Updated) Detectives Investigating After Deceased Man Found Outside Aurora Bar

UPDATE: Detectives did not locate anything suspicious at the scene. The King County Medical Examiner’s office is investigating and will determine a cause of death in the case.

Detectives are investigating after a man’s body was found this morning outside a North Seattle tavern.

Police received a 911 call shortly before 6 AM of a man down on the ground in a parking lot behind a bar in the 12500 block of Aurora Avenue N.

Medics arrived with police and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

SPD Homicide detectives also responded to the call out of an abundance of caution and are assisting in the investigation. At this time, Investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the man’s death was accidental.

The man’s body will be turned over to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will identify the man and formally determine a cause of death.

Police have not found any evidence suggesting the man’s death has any connection to another incident early Friday, in which a suspect rammed a patrol car and was later fatally shot by an officer.
