A five-year-old boy was taken to Harborview Medical Center Friday morning after he was struck by a motorist on Rainier Avenue.
The boy was in the street at Rainier and Orcas when he was struck by the driver of a pickup truck shortly after 9 AM.
Medics transported the boy to Harborview in stable condition.
SPD Traffic Collision detectives are on-scene and interviewing the driver of the pickup, and still working to determine the circumstances and cause of the collision. Police will have a portion of Rainier Avenue closed for some time as they investigate the incident.
