Five Robbers Arrested at Birthday Party in Arboretum

Police arrested five partygoers after they assaulted and stole cell phones from other birthday party guests in the Arboretum around midnight on Sunday.

Officers arrived and contacted a group of victims and witnesses who were all pointing to a car nearby saying the suspects were inside.

Police stopped the car and detained the five occupants.

Those involved said a fight started possibly stemming from an incident that occurred last weekend. During the fight several people were assaulted and two people sustained injuries. One was transported to Harborview Medical Center for his wounds.

Four cell phones were stolen during the fight.

The witnesses and victims confirmed the suspects stopped by police were responsible for the assaults and stolen cell phones. Officers placed the suspects, ages 18 to 22 years old, under arrest.

One of the victims who had her cell phone stolen called her phone and officers heard it ringing inside the suspect car.  Another cell phone was found on one of the suspects after his arrest.

The car was impounded pending a search warrant to retrieve additional stolen cell phones.

The suspects were booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
