Detectives Continue to Follow Leads In Donnie Chin Murder Case

SPD Homicide detectives continue to investigate the fatal shooting of International District activist and icon Donnie Chin.

Police are working to retrace the steps of individuals involved in the exchange of gunfire which killed Chin. Detectives believe at least two people present during the shooting also spent time at two International District hookah establishments prior to the incident. Police are still working to determine the extent of their involvement in the homicide.

Police are reviewing previous incidents earlier this year at the two clubs—including assaults, theft and property destruction reports—and are still working to identify a Good Samaritan who handled several pieces of evidence before handing them to police at the scene of the shooting which killed Chin on July 23rd.

City and Seattle Police Department officials will be in attendance at a memorial in Chin’s honor this Saturday, August 15th, at 2 PM at the Chong Wa Benevolent Association Playfield at 522 7th Avenue S.
