Detectives are investigating an early morning officer involved shooting Downtown that sent a man to the hospital.
Officers were dispatched to investigate reports of a man brandishing a firearm near 5 Ave. and Madison St just before 3 am. When Officers arrived they found the 25-year-old man at 2 Ave and Spring St. Officers ordered the man to drop his gun and then fired shots striking the suspect once. Seattle Fire Department medics took the suspect to Harborview Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
Force Investigations Detectives have taken over the investigation and are speaking with witnesses and collecting evidence. The Office of Professional Accountability was also on scene, as is standard procedure in these types of investigations.
