Officers arrested a 28-year-old man at 2:30 this morning after he slashed a man while being confronted about stealing a doughnut.
A clerk for a convenience store in the 600 block of 1 Ave, saw the suspect enter the store, place a doughnut in his pocket and try to walk out without paying. The clerk confronted the suspect who pulled out a box cutter and began swinging it wildly, cutting the clerk multiple times. The injured clerk called 911 while the suspect walked away.
Bike officers responded to the 911 call and arrested the suspect at 3 Ave and Madison St.
Medics took the victim to Harborview medical center for treatment of lacerations to his chest, arms and back. Officers booked he suspect into King County Jail for investigation of robbery and assault.
