Burglars So Thorny After Being Arrested In Beacon Hill Blackberry Brambles

Officers arrested a trio of burglars Wednesday after they tried to flee from police through a bramble-filled greenbelt on Beacon Hill.

Police received calls from neighbors in the 6000 block of 32nd Avenue South shortly after 12 PM after they spotted the suspects climbing over a fence into the yard of a home.

When officers arrived at the house, the suspects fled, breaking through a wooden fence as they ran.

The suspects fled from the house, broke through the wooden fence and fled on foot. Patrol officers and K9 Blitz began searching for the suspects, and eventually caught up to the men after they tried to hide in a greenbelt filled with blackberry bushes. At least one of the men sustained cuts and scrapes from running through the brambles while stripping off his clothing.

Police believe the suspects may be responsible for as many as three burglaries on Beacon Hill during the day. Officers seized the suspects’ car at the scene and booked all three men, ages 20, 28 and 33, into the King County Jail for investigation of burglary.
