Officers arrested one suspect and are searching for a second after a 16-year-old boy was robbed Tuesday night in the University District.
A teenage boy was walking home through Cowen Park around 9 PM when two men approached him. One of the suspects pulled out a knife while the other began rummaging through the teens pockets. The unarmed suspect then punched the victim in the face, forcing him to drop his backpack. The two suspects collected their ill-gotten goods and ran away.
Police searched the park and found one of the suspects trying to flee. Officers stopped the man and found him still wearing the victim’s backpack.
Officers booked the 26-year-old suspect into King County Jail for investigation of robbery. Police continue to search for the other suspect, who was only described as a white male wearing all black. If you have any information in this case please call the SPD Robbery Unit at (206) 684-5535.
