East Precinct Adds Patrols After Two Men Wounded In Weekend Shootings

Seattle police have added additional patrols in the Central District after two men were injured in weekend shootings.

The first man, a 28-year-old was dropped off by friends at Harborview Medical Center around 1:30 AM on Sunday. He told police he’d been shot in the leg near 12th Avenue and Main Street.

Sunday evening, around 9:15 PM, a 29-year-old with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound arrived at Harborview shortly after police received a report of gunfire at 28th Avenue and King Street, which damaged several homes and vehicles.

Detectives are investigating both cases, and believe the shootings were not random acts. Police have identified several specific locations in the Central District, which will see an increase in marked patrols as the investigation continues.

Additionally, the Seattle Police Department continues to focus on preventing gun violence through SeaStat crime analysis reports and the deployment of additional resources from the Gang Unit, SWAT and Traffic units in coordination with the Real Time Crime Center.

Anyone with information regarding these cases, or any other incidents of violence, is urged to call 911.
