Two teens were booked into the Youth Services Center early this morning after they robbed a man for his gold necklace in the Rainier Beach neighborhood.
On Friday, August 5th, at approximately 8:40 am, officers responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery that occurred at Seward Park Avenue South and Wabash Avenue South. The report stated that two suspects had punched another male and took his necklace. Officers met with the victim, a 64-year-old man, who had been struck in the face and knocked down by the suspects. After the attack, the suspects fled on foot. A witness was able to provide officers with a detailed description of the suspect and the direction they fled.
Officers found the teens a short distance away at Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street, and recovered the victim’s necklace from one teen’s pocket.
Seattle Fire treated the victim for his injuries, and the necklace was returned to him.
The two suspects, ages 15 and 16, were later booked into the Youth Services Center for investigation of robbery. The 15-year-old was also booked for a felony warrant for robbery.
